Building resilience in youth (Runtime 3:32 mins) –

Ben Omoregie says that in any young person, resilience to trauma begins with a solid support system. As operations manager at Youth Without Shelter, a homeless shelter for youth aged 16-24, he sees many youth that have been betrayed or abandoned by a loved one. Ben and the YWS staff attempt to engage the youth through the "trauma lens," an empathetic approach to the individual youth's specific traumatic situation. Only upon fully understanding their background, can he move forward to help guide them.
